Why Utah? This question is asked almost every time I share that I am heading to Provo for Spring Break!
Ultimately, it is because God has called me. Utah is 98% LDS. It is the most religious state in America, and the people there are absolutely amazing. This is exactly why we are going. We want to have "InterFaith Dialogues;" conversations with our new LDS friends about the differences between the LDS Church and traditional Christianity. We believe that these conversations are vital to building bridges and friendships that will ultimately lead to the Gospel being shared. We believe that there are significant differences between Latter-Day Saints and Evangelicals, and these differences are core issues to the Gospel. That is why we want to go and begin having conversations about what we believe and why, so that one day our new friends might gain a more accurate understanding of who the Jesus of the Bible claims to be.
In addition to raising the money it costs to take so many people to Utah, we are also trying to raise $10,000 to start a matching ministry. This will provide funds for new staff members who are working on support raising in Utah since it can be a difficult place to fundraise.
