Camp Recap!!

Hello Family and Friends back home and all over the world!! We apologize for the lack of posting, we are in the middle or Africa and service is not like how it is in the States! (Hence, no pictures :( But we will try to post tons of pictures on the way back!) We are beyond excited to share with you our team re-cap of our time at camp last week!

Our camp, called FaithQuest, is in Uganda on a piece of property owned by a local ex-pat worker. In the words of our local missionary who we are serving with, God deemed the land as “Holy Ground” from the moment he first saw the land. Oh how true this statement is! We witnessed first hand incredible faith, amazing stories, joyful hearts, powerful worship and the image of God everywhere we looked. Our dream, prayer and desire of the camp was to communicate the message of how important it is to get off the bench and play in the mission of Christ and His calling. This theme was communicated through the idea of “Christian FC” (Football Club). We discussed several different men and women from the Bible who were seen as insignificant yet did mighty things in Jesus name. The campers, who already love football, were excited to picture themselves as players and important members of Jesus’ team. We may not ever see the lasting effects of this camp, however, we can take courage that the Lord will continue to work through the theme and invite the campers, and us into deeper relationship with Him.

•Many new congregations came to FaithQuest for the first time and are planning on attending again in the future
•We experienced powerful moments of God’s presence admits a campground that has seen spiritual warfare including spiritual attacks and witch doctors, but God is the most high God!
•The camp provided a space for intercultural and inter generational connection for the edification of the body and the glorification of God

•Each one of our team members taught how to practice a personally import spiritual discipline in a round robin small group discussion with the campers. This grew us in our leadership and helped the campers understand how to practically practice the discipline of their faith.
•Led and coordinated the oral telling of Bible stories cross culturally and with a language barrier
•We engaged with the campers through activities including; team flag making, team chants, banana leaf football making, football, volleyball, and finally, with lots of singing and dancing by the fire 🔥

•Pray that the hearts and minds of the campers would be kept from spiritual warfare after attending this camp
• That the security and staff of the camp would receive lots of rest post camp
•That we would be reminded to pray for the brothers and sisters that we met at camp
•That we would practice what we preached in our spiritual disciplines classes

We miss you all so much but we are so happy that we get to connect with you all in this way! May God continue to bless you!
