Last day is complete!
Today was so joyous and emotional but we are glad to have accomplished so much this week! We split up activities today with one group finishing painting the mural and benches at the high school and the other continuing with house visits. At the house visits hard stories were shared but seeds were planted that we will be continually praying for. We finished the mural just in time before the rain started dumping down! It was so fun to see Sarteneja all wet and we enjoyed dancing in the rain and letting ourselves run free! After this we had lunch and some of us went to change our wet clothes before art club at the church. We then split up again and continued home visits and ran an art club for the high schoolers. The students loved getting to take a step back from their daily lives and learn how to make beauty through art. We then all went to the women's Co-op where they told us about their love for sewing and embroidery and we got to support them by buying their products to use and take home with us. After this we had worship on the pier for the last time and then came back for another delicious supper. We then had our last devotional about abiding in Christ and shared how much we appreciate everyone on this team and how grateful we are for this opportunity to learn how to abide in Christ in every area of our lives. We then of course finished the night off with one last ice cream run and bonding with the team. We are so blessed for how the Lord worked in our lives and the lives of those in Sarteneja this week and the relationships he let us create. We are sad to leave but know we have more family than when we arrived and we cannot wait to someday see our newfound friends again.
