Hello friends and family! It’s such an exciting time to be able to share about this Honduras trip and how the Lord is actively working throughout each day. Thank you for all of your prayers and support; the Lord has truly been working uniquely in Honduras!
Today (5/18) was our second full day in Honduras!
This morning we were able to visit another Compassion center that was a Survival Site for pregnant mothers and mothers of children from 1-3 years old. The center was so welcoming and loving for our arrival and their Pastor opened us with a word from 1 Timothy. We then toured their center and got to see each room of their site (church, classrooms, offices, and dining area). This location has been growing so much that they are currently building a new area to expand their church and their services! Being on this site for the first time was truly a great blessing from the Lord and we were able to visit some homes of the mothers in the program! Each mother was so inviting into their space and wanted to share with us all that they could. We couldn’t be more grateful of the Lord’s presence so far on this trip, and the way He has continued to work through each student and through each interaction we have been blessed with in Honduras. After the home visits we said our goodbyes and prayed over the staff of the Survival Center, and they concluded our time with a sweet and loving time of prayer and worship.
After our time visiting our partners, we were able to go on a hike to a nearby mountain which overlooked the beautiful city of San Pedro Sula. Although long and hot, we were able to make it all the way and enjoy a coconut at the top before heading back down.
For dinner, we ate at a nearby restaurant called Estelina’s where we were served baleadas filled with cheese, eggs, rice, sour cream, and avocado. We wrapped up our night debriefing our day and worshipping and giving thanks to our Lord for this wonderful trip and what He is doing in the hearts of ourselves and the people in Honduras!
¡Gloria a Dios!
