Day 12/13/14
On Saturday, we prepared care packages for the villagers, consisting of medical and hygiene supplies, as well as a Khmer translated Bible.
Our ministry in the village was particularly special on a personal level for our trip leader, who grew up there. After assembling care packages, she gave us a tour of her childhood village and reunited with many relatives.
It was very touching to see her reunite with one uncle in particular, who instantly burst into tears at the sight of her. This uncle would give her money for food as a child when she had nothing but a pail of water to eat in the rice fields. We can only imagine how happy he must have been to see the starving little girl he once helped feed, now a healthy and happy woman with a family of her own.
On Sunday, we led a morning session for adults and afternoon session for children in the village. This included our trip leader sharing her testimony, members of our team sharing the creation story, worship, prayer, checking blood pressures, as well as distributing care packages,
Near the end of the afternoon session, it started to downpour. Our team danced in the rain with the children who remained and sang along to the worship music playing in the background—It was such a joyous and freeing experience! Many of us cried happy tears and felt such an amazing, indescribable peace in our hearts. Our time dancing in the rain is a memory we will all cherish.
On Monday, we began our forty-eight hour trek back to Colorado. We are so excited to see everyone back home soon!
Before then, we would ask for prayers for safe travel and for healing for those prayed over in the village so that they might know the power of Jesus, our true healer. We would also ask for spiritual strongholds to be torn down in the village and for protection from spiritual attacks for the Cambodian Christians.
