This morning (5/29) we started the day off by reflecting on the passage of Isaiah 6:1-8. Isaiah 6:3 says, “And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” We reflected on how amazing it is that we have a God that is so holy and above everything. Even when we don’t understand why some of these kids live in such horrible circumstances, we know that the Lord will always work everything for his good in his perfect time and plan.
Today was day two at our compassion site. In the morning we did our day one VBS curriculum again for a new group of kids. They got to hear about the gospel and the good news of Jesus Christ, we made gospel bracelets, and played games.
After that another group of us got to meet our sponsor children and their families. It is an amazing experience to meet in person the people we’ve prayed for so much! We’d appreciate your continued prayers for the kids we encounter and that their families would continue to draw near to the Lord and for the Lord’s provision in their lives.
After lunch, we did day two of VBS with the same group of kids as yesterday. The kids learned about the stories of Jesus calling his disciples, they colored crosses, played duck duck goose (or pato pato ganso in Spanish), and had so much fun.
Finally we went to a super market and got to shop around for souvenirs and then enjoyed affogatos (espresso and ice cream) and time together as a team.
It’s been amazing to learn more about God’s character and see such joy in all the people we encounter. Their love for us and the Lord has been so sweet and a testament to what it looks like to love one another with an unconditional love that can only come from the Father.
Thank you all so much for your support and prayers for our team as well as the people here in Honduras! We appreciate you all!
