Hi all! Thank you so much for your generous support through prayer and giving for the Cuba mission trip!
We got to serve with six different churches, supporting them in different ways. We got to participate in a cool ministry at one church that I'll leave off of this online announcement, but you should ask your loved one about it! As a result there were over 30 people who said they accept Jesus into there life. That was shocking for us as it felt almost "too easy". We are trusting that the Lord will use it for good. As the churches got their contact info to follow up!
We got to help five churches with VBS. The team really enjoyed this part and gave their full presence and energy to the kids! Our topic was Psalm 23, and Georgia, Sammie, and Titus put together the lesson and skit with Titus acting as the Shepherd! The kids loved it!
We got to help a church paint and purchase tiles for their floor. We got to participate in the services already prepared by the churches there. And we got to give many gifts of supplies that are scarce in Cuba! Cafe Bustelo coffee was a massive hit!
Our goal for this mission trip was to:
- Encourage those who are doing the ministry there everyday! We are only there for a week, and we were not there to create a massive change and be saviors. We wanted to see the work they do and encourage!
-Learn from the local believers! We got to see some of their services, their way of life, and hear their stories.
-Engage long-term with the locals! We got to stay in contact with the locals and it is a blessing to continue the relationships we built!
-Build in our own lives an excitement for what God is doing in Cuba and spur us on to ministry wherever we live.
We had lots of other cool stories but too much to write out here!
