SOC2theWorld Spring 2026

The SOC2theWorld committee would like to invite any spring internship students and/or CES students to come join us for an international internship experience in India.

Why?

Students will get to serve those living within India for two 4-day trauma-informed retreats in different locations in India. You will gain around 40 direct hours (systemic included) and 10 hours of supervision under Drs. Daniel, Philip, and C. Hall. You will get amazing experience counseling outside of America and/or your current community! This will be a 13-day trip, including travel days. On this trip you can expect to encounter many exciting experiences including but not limited to:

• • helping facilitate a counseling retreat by providing:
  • individual counseling
  • group counseling
  • couple/family therapy
  • supervision with faculty and/or CES PhD students
  • international travel
  • long flights
  • multiple airports/layovers
  • international customs
  • a variety of travel in another country which will include:
  • miles of walking day-to-day
  • travel by car, bus, and/or train
  • staying in foreign hotels/apartments which may or may not have:
  • elevators
  • air conditioning
  • individual bathrooms
  • foods to which you may not be accustom
  • utilizing interpreters for travel, directions, and during counseling sessions

Please be aware that facilities may vary significantly from what you are used to in your current community. Buildings and temporary housing may lack basic amenities such as air conditioning, individual bathrooms, or elevators. You will also need to navigate long flights, multiple airports, and international customs, as well as prepare for extensive walking and various modes of transportation like cars, buses, and trains that may not be modernized or lack convenience or compatibility features.

April 6th-18th, 2026

How much?

$3350 plus your flight cost from your home location to Chicago O’Hare and any food on travel days.

Please note- applying does not mean immediate acceptance. There will be group interviews to determine best fit. Application deadline is December 5th, 2025. Also, the trip will be dependent upon being granted our visas from the embassy.

Pre-Requisites?

You must be a CCU student in the School of Counseling who has successfully completed practicum. CES internship students are also encouraged to apply!
